So we came up with a kind of plan for our mexican tour.
Based on the fact that we will meet our friends in Oaxaca city for « el Dia de los Muertos », we’ll head slowly towards the Yucatan region across various states, and then head back to Oaxaca on the 27th.
Our journey out of “CDMX” starts with Puebla, the capital city of the state of the same name.
We reached Puebla under heavy rain and the hostel we had booked sent us walking 2 blocks to their twin hostel for another room; we were drenched!

By chance, the rain stopped as soon as we reached our room!
Our room was in a beautiful old house converted to a hostel… and completely run down 😅

We walked around town the next day, and Mary took us to the best vegetarian Chile en Nogada in town 🙂

Beyond the old center, we went to check out Xanenetla, a neighborhood renovated and decorated with murals.

The next day we were on the road again, on our way south towards Oaxaca. After a bunch of corn fields and forests of giant cactuses, we passed through a range of beautiful mountains and thanks to ADO’s clever advertising system I could really enjoy the landscape.

Nonetheless, with a few expert contorsions I was able to capture some of the scenery.
